Paul Robeson Malcolm X Academy
The first public school program in the United States to provide an African-Centered curriculum, the school provides culturally-responsive teaching techniques to prepare students both academically and socially to become productive citizens of the 21st Century. At Robeson Malcolm X, students learn about the contributions of African-Americans in all subjects. For example, students may delve into the Harlem Renaissance or focus on certain inventions or theories discovered by African-American scientists. Some Offerings: Go Green C-STEM, African Drumming and Dance, African History Classes, National Junior Honor Society, ACT Prep Courses, Student Government, Key mentoring programs with MSU and other local universities, Tutoring/Extended Day Program, All-Girls and All-Boys Course Sections, Championship Girls/ Boys Basketball, Cheerleading, Poetry Club, Rites of Passage ceremony.
